On 22 May 2026, the International Business & Investment Forum Malta opened its doors at The Embassy Valletta Hotel. Attendees travelled from very different corners — from Malta itself to Mallorca and France, all the way to Poland and the German-speaking region. What awaited them was more than a series of talks: a day of bringing together international entrepreneurship and the Mediterranean, hands-on expertise and genuine encounters.
A Start in the Spirit of Networking
The day began at 10 a.m. in the heart of Valletta. Time was deliberately set aside for arriving and getting to know one another over relaxed networking — setting the tone for the entire day. Those who had come to Malta were looking not only for answers to tax and business questions, but also for personal exchange on equal footing.
The speakers then took the floor. Prof. Dr. Adrian Cloer of Forvis Mazars Germany examined Malta's role within the EU in his talk "Malta in the EU Context," while Dr. Marco Felder from Liechtenstein addressed cross-border structuring under the title "International Tax Structuring & M&A." The coffee breaks proved just as valuable as the talks themselves.
A Lunch with a View
One of the day's clear highlights was lunch on the rooftop terrace of the Embassy Hotel. With perfect weather and a sweeping view across Valletta, good food met good conversation. It is precisely these moments — away from the formal conference setting, under open skies above the rooftops of the Maltese capital — in which first contacts grow into real connections.
The Second Half: Expertise Firsthand
Refreshed, the group moved into the afternoon with top-class speakers. Representatives from Malta Enterprise, the financial regulator MFSA, and Forvis Mazars Malta illuminated the location from both an institutional and advisory perspective — insights firsthand from where decisions are made and structures are guided.
Conversations that had begun in the morning found their continuation in the afternoon break — and, more than once, a concrete starting point for future collaboration.
A Relaxed Close in One of Valletta's Oldest Wine Bars
Towards the evening the forum changed setting. At the Ellul Wine Bar, attendees let the day wind down — over a glass of wine in a historic backdrop, informal and personal, with the sense of being part of a growing international network around the Mediterranean.
